The SKINNY on Hyperemesis Gravidum and Ketosis

I have been doing some internet research and I came upon an article about ketoacidosis and I hypothesize this is one of many contributors to the severe N & V and weight loss of HG. When Ketosis is reached the body's emergency response kicks in and the body then metabolizes muscle instead of fat. This leads to nausea and dehydration which um.. isn't this what caused ketosis in the first place-so it is a negative cycle. Also the chemical ketone in our body is also an appetite suppressant. Hence why a lot of "fad diets" tout about obtaining ketosis to lose weight. So I figure prevention-okay so obviously the biggest prevention is hydration and eating adequate carbs for glucose, vitamins and minerals especially sodium, calcium and magnesium. if possible to try to SLOWLY decrease carbs (like HG sufferers have control). can't eat pasta, breads-trypossibly oj to increase glucose & prevent ketosis.
